Four Time Ski/Snowboard Group Details

Thank you for choosing Nordic Mountain this season! We are excited to share our love of skiing and snowboarding with your group. We strive to provide a great group experience for you and/or your child. Below is some basic information on our policies and procedures that will be useful information in planning and during your or your child's trip. Please read through the information below; it is your responsibility to communicate and share our policies with your child. Please contact your group coordinator with any questions.

Weather

Nordic Mountain will update any hill closings due to weather conditions by noon. All closings will be posted on our Facebook page and website. Please keep in mind we are a winter seasonal sport. If your group outing has been cancelled, we will use your groups scheduled make up.

Missed Trips

Group tickets can not be transferred to different students or to different nights of the week. There are only two reasons Nordic will credit a student who misses ski club, injury or illness. If a student misses school with illness on the day of a ski club trip, they can be credited with a gift card. If you are seeking a credit for a missed trip, you must report that to your advisor. Advisors will keep a list of credits and those gift cards will be created on the night of the school's last trip. If a student has purchased a rental and then acquires gear, no longer needing the rental, a refund can be orchestrated. Please contact your advisor ASAP if this happens.

Conduct

It is important to Nordic Mountain that our slopes and lodge remain a family friendly environment. We take pride in providing a fun winter place for both students and families to enjoy. Please remind students to conduct themselves in a family friendly way. The use of inappropriate language to other guests or staff and reckless skiing/snowboarding may result in students' lift tickets being revoked.

The skiers' responsibility code -- learn it, know it, use it! Know the code to stay safe on the hill:

  1. Stay in control

  2. People ahead of you have the right way

  3. Stop on the sides of the runs

  4. Look uphill and yield to others

  5. Use devices to prevent runaway equipment

  6. Observe all signs and warnings

  7. Know how to use a lift

Lessons

Never been skiing or snowboarding before? We offer lessons at NO COST to anyone who’s interested! We will have instructors stationed in our beginner area. There, students will find different shapes and features built into the snow to train them how to ski. This process allows the intuitive learners to move on without being held back by some folks that need a bit more explanation. You can see more by watching these videos, https://nordicmountain.com/terrain-based-learning

Food and Bev options

Students will have access to our cafe area throughout their entire night. To give you an idea of how much money to send them with, a chicken tender combo which includes tenders, fries, and a drink is priced at ___. Our cafe has a wide variety of fried foods, personal pizzas, candy, and sweet treats. There is a gluten free cauliflower crust pizza option as well. You are welcome to send your kids with their own food to have on the bus as well. Advisors and chaperones are allowed to hang out in our Pub upstairs. We ask that students stay out of our Pub unless they are seeking their advisor or a different chaperone.

What to bring and what to wear

Please be sure your student is well prepared for the weather. For maximum comfort in their ski boots, each student should have only one pair of socks pulled up tight above their calf inside their boots. Any pants or other layers should be pulled up and pulled over the outside of the boot. For this reason, tight leggings do not always make the best base layers. Waterproof gloves are a MUST. Please be sure your student has gloves, as silly as it sounds, we get kids out on the snow without gloves far too often. Layers are king when it comes to temperature control. Send them with layers they can shed if needed. The outer layer should be as waterproof as possible. Face and neck protection is also important. Ski goggles and a neck gaiter of some kind will do the trick. Other items that can come in handy are; lip balm, hand warmers, cash for the cafe, backup gloves, and extra socks for the bus ride home.

Rental Space

There will be space for students to put on their warm clothes. If a student does NOT need rentals, the red yurt outside is the best place to have as home base. It is heated and not as congested. Please leave all equipment outside. If students are renting, students can keep their possessions in a paid locker or just in a cubby. Nordic Mountain can not take responsibility for any missing items. Please be respectful of this communal space.

Lost and Found

If there are any lost items, there is only one way to get them back. You must go to https://nordicmountain.com/lost-and-found and fill out the form. Once the item is located, you will be contacted by our staff. DO NOT CALL about your lost items. Please follow the procedure and we will do our best to keep our lost and found organized.
